Membership : Who Are Our Members?
Membership of the Club is open to anyone in the maritime community who owns or operates ships. The membership is broad and international, embracing:
- more than 350 companies from over 45 countries
- some 2800 ships entered by owners and charterers annually
- all major trade types, as well as the more specialist sectors
- over 100 million gt
What binds the membership together? A common commitment to mutuality and a common interest in protecting each other against exposore to legal costs.
About 80% of the Club's Members have entries in the UK P&I Club. But Club Members are not required to place P&I cover with the UK P&I Club; the Club has a significant number of 'Defence only' members.
